Mexic-Arte Museum invites the Austin community to kick off Amplify Austin Day with our Viva Happy Hour!
Come enjoy specialty cocktails, antojitos, and a featured exhibit of works by past Viva La Vida Artists in Residence. On display we will have our famous large-scale sugar skull piñata float and Juan Gabriel mojiganga by local artists Sergio and Monica Lejarazu, our classy Catrina mojiganga by artist Patricia Greene, and Dennis McNett’s whimsical papier-mâché masks, which will be available for our guests to wear for a festive photo booth! You will also have the opportunity to visit with some of our local Viva artists, and create your own flower crowns and boutonnieres to compliment your calavera make-up in preparation for our 2017 Viva La Vida Festival and Parade.
As a special treat, the museum will unveil a piñata featuring our float theme for 2017 – you can expect a piñata bash upon reaching our Viva Happy Hour fundraising goal!
Viva Happy Hour is free and open to the public.
