Fidencio Duran Artist Talk

Crossing the Line artist Fidencio Duran will give a talk about his current pieces in the exhibition: A Park for Everyone (2015) and a triptych drawing piece of the Zaragoza Recreation Center Mural (1996): Salon Cinco de Mayo, Comite Patriota, and Diez y Seis de Septiembre. Visitors will have the chance to learn more about his artistic processes, inspiration behind his work, and the significance his work has in Austin Texas history.

About Fidencio Duran:
Austin artist Fidencio Duran is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BFA. Duran tells visual stories that honor the history of his family and community. His artwork appears in public and private collections in the U.S. and abroad. One of his most prominent works, The Visit, graces the length of the ticket counter at Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Duran has the distinction of being the only artist to receive all three Dallas Museum of Art Awards to Artists. Duran has instructed students of painting and drawing at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas (now Texas State University).
