About the artist:
Ashley Thomas (b.1984) is a visual artist based in Corpus Christi, Texas. Thomas' work memorializes overlooked objects through large-scale graphite drawings on paper. Her work forms an archive of relics sourced from her past that index traces of the feminine in material culture and acknowledges her personal Mexican-American history. She received an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011, and currently teaches drawing and design at Del Mar College.
