We are thrilled to invite you to participate in the Mexic-Arte Museum’s annual Mexico City Art Tour this fall, Sept. 13 -18. Viva La Vida Parade & Festival

Mexic-Arte Museum’s Viva La Vida Fest is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival. The festival features a Grand Procession, the Education Pavilion with hands-on art activities and artist demos, and a celebration with traditional foods, local artist and retail booths, a low-rider exhibition, live music and performances throughout the day. Free Admission!

Family Day Sculpture Workshop with Artist April Garcia

April Garcia is an artist living in Austin, Texas. Using soft sculpture she creates spaces that express personal struggle in abstracted or symbolic forms. What is most recognizable about her work is her process of sewing, weaving and knotting she has developed that gives the pieces a distinct and natural texture reminiscent of nature and living plant life. She uses bright colors and patterns to create patterns of fabric that explode off the wall.

If you've ever been interested in learning how to screen print your own designs- or already know how but would like to learn MORE techniques, Nuestro Mundo is the camp for you!

This summer Mexic-Arte Museum will be offering 3 different opportunities for you to attend a FREE camp where you will learn about eating healthy and environmental awareness, you will also have the chance to design a logo to promote one of these two topics and get to print it as a final poster and on a 100% organic tote bag using Screen printing techniques!

Paul del Bosque, is a graphic artist originally from Corpus Christi, Texas. del Bosque began his career as a toy designer working on the popular ‘Homies’ toy line. His personal work focuses on the Chicano experience and spans multiple media, including drawings, prints, film, dance, comics, and commercial graphics.
